PET Printing Ink Screen Printing
PET is a non-polar polymer with high chemical stability and low surface tension, making it difficult to be soaked by most inks and solvents. However, due to its low surface tension, PET does not meet the surface tension required for printing. To increase the surface tension and improve the bond strength between the film and the ink, surface treatment is necessary before printing.
PET ink is screen-printed onto PET substrates to achieve a high-volume effect.
1. Applicable Materials: Various treated PET sheets and PET injection-molded parts.
2. PET Ink Characteristics: Slow drying, matte finish, good hiding power, vibrant colors, and stamping resistance.
3. Surface Dry Time: 15-25 minutes; Strict Test Time: 24 hours after air drying; Baking: 60-75°C for one hour.
4. Viscosity: 15,000-20,000 oz.
5. Test Performance: 50 cycles with 500g force in 99% ethanol; 50 cycles with 500g force.
II. PET Ink Precautions:
A. Clean the substrate surface thoroughly. Stir thoroughly before use and add approximately 10% thinner.
B. When printing multiple colors, wait 20 minutes for the previous color to dry before printing the next color. Heat drying for 5-10 minutes after printing is best.
C. Do not mix with other inks to avoid reducing print quality. Add 5%-10% DB-01 curing agent if necessary.
D. Quality may be affected by factors such as materials, processes, molding conditions, and environmental conditions. Therefore, test the ink before mass production. Only print when it meets quality requirements.
E. After use, seal the PET ink securely and store it away from sources of fire, moisture, and light in a well-ventilated, moisture-proof, and dark place. Shelf life is one year.
